On Belief in Scripture

I came across this from One Minute Wisdom by Anthony de Mello, page 118:

There was once a student who never became a mathematician because he blindly believed the answers he found at the back of his math textbook - and, ironically, the answers were correct.

This is beautiful and it is difficult to add anything that will improve upon it.  So I won't.
